Mike Salvati--Lead Pastor & Elder mike.salvati@ctkckenosha.org
Mike was born in New England, spending his childhood outside of Hartford, CT. In the mid-80’s Mike’s family moved to a western suburb of Chicago. After graduating high school in 1990, Mike went to a small liberal arts university in Ohio. That’s when everything changed.
Mike was a nominal Christian growing up, having professed faith in Jesus Christ when he was 9. But God began a pronounced work in Mike’s life the summer before his freshman year at college. It was during his first year that Mike sensed God stirring in him new desires for God, His Word--the Bible, and His people--the Church. God was calling Mike to serve Him.
It was during college that Mike met and fell in love with his wife, Jenny. They are the parents of four children: Abby (married to Javon), Nate, Mark, and Mary.
After college, Mike served with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) for five years at The Ohio State University. Recognizing his need for more training to become a pastor, Mike and Jenny left Ohio in 1999 for Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Mike received his MDiv in 2003.
In God’s providence, Mike was assigned a faculty advisor who would become a mentor and friend - Mike Bullmore. Soon Mike and Jenny were part of a new church plant in Kenosha, WI that Mike Bullmore was leading - CrossWay Community Church. After graduating TEDS in 2003, CrossWay took Mike on full-time as CrossWay’s youth pastor. Mike served as one of CrossWay’s pastors for 10 years.
In 2013, CrossWay sent Mike out with 90 others to plant Christ the King Church in downtown Kenosha. Mike has been serving the people of CTKC as lead pastor for almost 5 years.
In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, mountain biking, and watching a good movie.
Mike desires Christ the King Church to be a diverse people who are united by the gospel of Jesus Christ, who are holding firm to the Word of Christ and are living Spirit-empowered lives for the glory of Christ.
